Abdalla Elshahhat

Abdalla Elshahhat, senior commercial operator

I am a Revenue Systems Operator. Fifteen years in B2B commercial, and a decade building the system underneath the number, across both direct and distributor markets. I write and work under one idea: in commoditized markets, companies do not win on product. They win on distribution and commercial architecture.

Most of my career was in sales. Selling, building pipeline, coaching people on how to close, asking the right questions in the room. Then more of the P&L came my way, and I learned the rest of it: sitting with finance for hours, line item by line item, until I understood how a business gets built and not just how it gets sold. For me, profit is everything. Revenue is the headline. What is left after the engine runs is the real score.

I learned this in a hard arena. Capital equipment into hospitals and governments, sold through distributor networks and public tenders, where the buyer is a committee and the cycle runs for quarters. The commercial architecture is the same whether the customer is a health system or a SaaS company. That is where I point it now, with founders in SaaS, fintech, and B2B services.

How I think

Two frameworks sit under most of my work. The Enterprise Value Map connects everyday commercial decisions to what a business is actually worth, across four value drivers. The customer acquisition engine is how that thinking gets built for founder-led companies, so growth stops depending on the founder being in every deal.

I am not a guru and I do not sell motivation. I am an operator who has built the number, run the team, and sat with the P&L. I write about all of it on LinkedIn and here most weeks: specific, defensible lessons, no recycled frameworks.

What I do now

Alongside my operating role, I work with a small number of founder-led B2B companies on commercial turnarounds and building acquisition engines. Mostly SaaS, fintech, and B2B services that are past initial product-market fit, where the founder is still the main person selling and the calendar is the ceiling. Here is how a conversation works.
